UPDATE: All for nothing

Monday's venting post, re: crazy food chucking lady is now resolved. God saw fit to resolve it by trashing my car. Transmission needs to be rebuilt, front brakes are gone, and it is leaking exhaust...exhaust pipe needs to be cut and welded. So...no more food pantry runs.

I tried to buy a new car today, and my credit isn't quite good enough. They told me to wait 6 months and try again. I still plan to drive my car, holding my breath and praying, to get my own groceries, and go to Dr's appointments. But nothing extra. No weekly food pantry run, and no trips to my friend's house to bring him food.

I feel a bit sick to my stomach...and I hope and pray my credit settles out in the 6 months I have to wait.

OMG! I am so sorry to hear this 😢😢😢😢😢 Burnt fluid can still last quite a while. Like you said just be careful. When you hear the breaks squealing from going metal on metal that's when you have to worry. An exhaust leak won't bother you. I wish I was there to help you through this.

@Musicman In all honesty how well do you know this mechanic? Honda's last forever. He may be spinning you a line trying to make some easy money.

@Musicman They are supposed to be really reliable and trustworthy. The car IS 20 years old.

@4meAndyou Let's hope this time they are wrong. Have you considered flushing the transmission and putting some new transmission fluid in?

@Musicman The car was IN the shop and I had asked for the fluid to be flushed and new fluid put in, but they refused to do it...they said I would be throwing my money away because the gears were going bad inside the transmission, and it needed to be rebuilt.
