What does it mean to "sexualize" someone

I was told that cause I accidentally called a 17 year old woman that she is hot, which I mostly did just to be nice
that I was "sexualizing" a child. I barely looked at her pics and we have talked since I apologized to her for any discomfort I caused her and we are cool. I'd definitely wasn't burning in my lust.

I just want to know what that means cause basically I was just trying to tell her she's not ugly.

There are probably other words to use if you barely know someone and you question her age. But I also think, for good reasons, at times we are hypervigilant and all that should matter is that you found understanding since. Words can be judged so much now.

Its a scary world now. I dont condone remarks that are harsh and/or perverse. But wow ive broke my nose 8 times this month on lampposts by not looking at anyone due to the bin liner i now use to walk the streets.

@Perry1968 how the hell have you walked into lamposts eight times? i would get some glasses.

@Matt85 No. The black trash bag goes on my head so im not accused of looking at someone. 😆

Choosing to refer to a teenager as hot was an odd choice of accidental adjectives for sure. Definitely need to be careful with that wording or you're going to find people acting a bit unsettled around you.

Did you know she was 17?

@GeistInTheMachine No. This is why I said it out in the open, where everyone can see.
lol, next time jsut tell them they are not ugly so they can be offended by that instead.

It means to view them as a sexual object.

@Zonuss This is what I would say too.
