Well, there is minimal choice in being able to avoid it. But you do have a choice when it comes to chemo. They wanted me to do chemo for my colon cancer after surgery to remove the growth, for prophylactic reasons--increase my odds of postponing or preventing further cancerous growth. It would give me a 23% increased odds of surviving an additional two years. Having watched my wife go through five cycles of chemo, I knew what that torment would be like, so I would be lucky if one of those two years had any quality of life whatsoever. So I said no thanks. My wife was two decades younger and the grandkids were still very young when she opted for chemo. Totally different situation.

How do you avoid it. I was healthy fit and eat all the right foods but over 50 years i have had it 18 times.

@nevergiveup you can’t

Unfortunately it's not something anyone can avoid.
I have had three people in my life pass away from it. Each had a different type of cancer: Uterine breast and prostate.

@DeWayfarer I know it can’t be avoided. Just expressing my displeasure. A lot of my family has been wiped out by it. I’m on my second go around with it

Get screened for it. Early detection is key to successful treatment and cure. I had it in 2012. Chemotherapy and a lot of strong prayers cured me.
The reason we still have cancer and no cure is due to lack of accountability. There are countless thousands of companies claiming to be working on a cure, collecting money from charities and governments and showing limited results. If every one of those was forced to provide a solution or lose their money things would change quickly.
Give each one 5 years to produce something or lose funding completely. I bet we would have a cure pretty quickly.
