I have several ways I deal with stress or pressure. All of which are self-destructive. If the stress or pressure is minimal, I overeat, mostly carbs, until I am numb, and fall into a food coma. If the stress or pressure is more intense, I withdraw into myself and hide in my room. Sometimes sleeping for days. If the stress or pressure was from something I did wrong, I punish myself in many different ways, which are too personal to talk about here. I don't deal with stress or pressure very well, and since it is almost a daily thing,I am not a very healthy person, but I'm working on it. 🙂
@WildMountainRose Life is tough but we handle ourselves the best way we can, especially as we get older because the stressors change. It feels good to have a positive outlook to put it in better perspective

@phoenixrising A positive attitude does help.🙂
@WildMountainRose Yes it truly does

Sometimes it's a good motivator for me and helps me get done what I need to, if it becomes too much that's when I know it's time to get out in nature or take a walk and circle back.

Oh I never get stressed out at all. I am relaxed and calm all the time. Stress doesn't bother me in the least bit................... 😐
WildMountainRose · 56-60, F

Depends on the cause. I either deal with it directly, bottle it all up or ignore it until it goes away.

I don't handle them, I just get overwhelmed by them and go to sleep.
I don't. I usually have a melt-down.

Chain smoke 🚬😐
WildMountainRose · 56-60, F
@TheYawnArchive I do miss smoking, the most, during times of stress...😐
TheYawnArchive · 46-50, M
@WildMountainRose Be thankful you don't though ☺
WildMountainRose · 56-60, F
@TheYawnArchive Oh, I am very thankful.. Quitting was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. It took me 5 tries. I even blew a 5-year quit once. I loved smoking. If I hadn't had a daughter needing oxygen as a newborn ,for a few months, I would probably still be smoking and at least 80 pounds lighter.🙂

I knew I had to quit. It wasn't good for those around me, but I replaced smoking with food. Now I am having to quit food.🙄

Even though the cravings are gone now, I miss smoking soooooo much.It has been 20 years now. I told my Husband I wanted to go back on the patch, and both my Husband and my son came down on me like stink on poop. Geeze, I mean it was just a thought, 😔 but nicotine did help me control my appetite, and it helped with my ADHD.
