@deadgerbil I hope to see your dream. Kill those damn spiders!
I still don't know. That's why I think it's ridiculous to expect younger people to know.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@MsSwan Yeah, for everyone it's different.

Oh yeah, young people get asked that question all the time. It's like f*ck if they know. We didn't.
Well I mean holy poon snap, who the hell knows what they want to do when they are like 25 and under?
Oh wait, they DO know. They want to, ummm, "be romantic", party, enjoy life. Perform scientific tests of the effects of alcohol, using random beverages, and maybe "partake" in a bit of 420.
But is there an age where people know "what they want to be when they grow up?" Well, my personal experience is - that age isn't 48. 😄 I still do not know but I am pretty sure my present job isn't it.
Ya know Swan, I do not know if you have kids but I bet you would be a "cool parent". I know I am.

I don't have kids, but I agree I would've been a cool parent. I was always too afraid of the responsibility.

I knew I wanted to be an engineer when I was a kid. Aerospace was my goal but other engineers at McDonell Douglas told me it wasn't a stable job. So I went electrical. I got my shit together at 25 and graduated at 31. Never looked back. Also realized I wanted to be a dad at 25. First one at 29, second at 31. My greatest accomplishments.

I always wanted to own a business since I was 7. I had to fight tooth and nail to not let the world destroy my life though
So what did you decide?
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@Bigfatmermaidsbottom Well right now, I am studying Computer Science with a focus on web development.

@SilkenMist I'd be retired and on a good pension by now.
SilkenMist · 46-50, F
@NativePortlander It kind of bites because at our age there are not many options and we really do not have the energy to pursue "big things".
In our youth the world says we are too young, after a point we are told we are "too old".
Or you do everything right but one tiny slip-up and it all crashes down.
OR, you work so hard towards a goal but then the reward is basically handed to someone who has never lifted a finger.
