Anyone else hate the 21st century?

Or is it just me? I don't want to start listing all the things I don't like about how the world is now, because that would be one hell of a depressingly long list, but one of the things I'm really bothered by is how easily so many people have effectively become enslaved by the very technology that was supposed to make our lives better.

Just hang on for a bit. According to Start Trek it's going to be paradise on earth starting around the 23rd century (just don't go into space). At the 30th century Futurama promises complete post-scarcity.
