Anyone else hate the 21st century?

Or is it just me? I don't want to start listing all the things I don't like about how the world is now, because that would be one hell of a depressingly long list, but one of the things I'm really bothered by is how easily so many people have effectively become enslaved by the very technology that was supposed to make our lives better.

@come2gether Mobile phones and social media we could easily do without. Sure, SW is classed as social media, and here I am, but I wouldn't die if all of a sudden I woke up one morning to find out I'd been miraculously transported back in time 50 or so years, long before social media existed.

@Pambie the 80's were a pleasant time. The cold war was being won by the usa, the cops were tough on crime...I could be out and about, miles from home, and not have a care in the world about something bad happening to me. That feels like just a dream now

@Pambie if you call prosperity and peace suffering, then you should be enjoying the current state of affairs. Have fun with being enslaved by the Chinese. They just circumnavigated your country with part of their navy. That wasn't because they were just saying hello
