I remember growing up Christmas was a big deal to my Mom.

She was taken off the Navajo reservation at an early age to a boarding school. She was punished for speaking Navajo . As years went on she was adopted by a white family in Utah . And there she learned Christmas. (I don’t know the whole Mormon thing about Christmas, but . This is where she learned it) she learned about Santa Claus. She always had Christmas spirit during this time . This was her favorite holiday. Even as adults I got gifts from “Santa Claus” .. i miss her dearly .. and I wish I wasn’t such a bastard to her . I write this post in tears because I have no one else to express how important Christmas was to my mom . And how lonely I am . Now I know why holidays are such a drag for some people . When you get older you start to appreciate people in your life . Unfortunately for me it was just too little too late .. RIP MOM !.

Holiday's can bring about a wave of emotions, some nostalgic, some regretful. I think it all has it's place. Maybe you can bring something new in how you celebrate, to honour her memory
