Why do people say life is not meant to be lived alone?

I’ve heard that from my mom and uncle recently 👀🧐

Although making and keeping relationships is difficult for some people, I believe life is more fulfilling and pleasant if a person has someone with whom they share a caring relationship. It could be a group, a friend, or a significant other.

@Workerbee I'm married to a mom, and it is hard to change their minds.

@exexec idk I know she means well she has a partner as does my younger brother but as for me I’m the black sheep as usual 🙄🤷🏾‍♂️

@Workerbee Good luck. Don't give up.

Being alone is fine but not the best way to live.

Hence the statement, life is not meant to be lived alone.

There are exceptions but majority of humans fall under not wanting to be alone.

@LifeIsShort fair enough

I think it's because most people are not built to do well alone. It doesn't seem to be just mental thing but physical too, since there were cases that showed that people with good social support heal faster than those who are alone. But I'd correct it that life is not meant to be lived without someone to lean on, not exactly alone, as it's definitely better to be alone that living with someone abusive.

@CrazyMusicLover hmm 🤔
I guess it is because we are social creature as humans.
Relationships, friends or otherwise, offer us support in a variety of ways. I don't think this really means that you absolutely need to have a life partner, but a supportive social group at the very least.

I don't know about that, but having an SO is, in my opinion, preferable. That being said, the wrong SO is worse than being alone.

It's definitely better with a partner. But living alone really isn't that bad once you get used to it. But tbh, once you have it and lose it, it's very hard to go back to being alone.
