Nathalie got the green light today for euthanasia. She's a 50 year old woman from Vilvoorde (Belgium) who got grabbed whilst jogging and then brutally raped 6 years ago. The only thing that perhaps will keep her going for now is a civil suit that is pending against her rapist who only got 5 years and has already applied for an early release from prison. Do you think that her rapist should be imprisoned for murder now, afterwards or never? Isn't in the final analysis brutal rape equal to murder?

No. This euthanasia business is despicable. It’s part of the depopulation program. They should offer mental counseling not death. The politicians who approved this, and the doctors who perform it should be in prison.
Carissimi · F
That’s a different subject, and as I’m not familiar with laws in Belgium, I can’t give an opinion. @val70
Magenta · F
@Carissimi I concur!

@Magenta LOL... good to know but she's blocking me

His actions lead her to the point she don't want to live anymore and the fact he only got 5 years it's not a surprise the poor woman dont want to be here anymore! So yeah he should be imprisoned for Murder because all he will do is get out after 5yrs and do it to someone else!

I have no idea about other countries legal systems, and I only know a little about my own because it continues to suprise me with the sentences or lack of, handed out. There needs to be a stronger penalty for violent offences including rape and no early releases.

If the question is should she be euthanized, i do not think so. She has a situational depression that shpuld be treated. The perpetrator should get more than 5 years, and be castrated as well.

@samueltyler2 You're about the only one offered a heavier sentence for the rapist
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@val70 i see others, but thanks for the recognition❤️
val70 · 51-55
@samueltyler2 Your sentence went over what I really wanted to hear in the first place. Castration, really?
Magenta · F
No. While he should rot away in jail, and I'm sure is horribly traumatic for her, he is not responsible for her own choice to kill herself. That is on her.
val70 · 51-55
@Magenta Would it be wrong to look at it rather from moral question? Is it morally right to give a person only 5 years for a brutal rape?
Magenta · F
@val70 Moral or not, it's far from right!
But that wasn't the question.
val70 · 51-55
@Magenta I know. What to do with a justice that isn't right any more? That's my puzzle
onewithshoes · 22-25, F
If she clearly stated that she was having herself euthanized because she had been raped, then her rapist should also be euthanized.
