Disappointed by my therapist

So i asked her what she thought of me doing group therapy and she said no.
She said most people in the group setting would not be understanding of my tics or outburst and i should not go.

Not what i was expecting her to say.

She is trying to protect you, as some people can be very judgemental.
Personally I wouldn't go to any group therapy. I have done one on one and wasn't keen either.
Its just not for me.
I will deal with my depression and anxiety issues on my own or with the help of a good woman.

@CommandLine i just feel so alone some times. My friends don't have the issues i deal with. I talk to them and they listen and try and support me but it's just not the same
@Cigarguy101 Personally, I think the group would be terrific. it would divert attention away from themselves and once they get to know you they see you as a person and NOT a spectacle of untoward tics and outburst, after a couple of weeks they will barely even notice and the socialization would stop making you feel like on the outside looking in at other people. I would love to see you back as a active part of humanity where you belong.

@Grateful4you oh i don't hide. I can't i have kids lol. They are active in school and i have never missed anything they take part in. Now i do tend to stay back from the crowd so people don't notice my tics or hear my outbursts.

@Cigarguy101 I hadn't thought of it the way @Grateful4you put it. I was thinking from my perspective but he could be right.
Let's us know what you decide to do 👍
@Cigarguy101 I can relate. Being the center of attraction during a grand mal seizure is NOT my idea of 15 minutes of fame either.
