We avoided probate for ourselves by putting everything of value under joint ownership, and and added "Transfer on Death" clauses to our real estate and auto titles. IRA accounts by definition escape probate and goes directly to the beneficiaries, requiring just a death certificate and it's done.
After the above, there is nothing left to probate.
It took a year to settle what my dad left behind. While it wasn't really an issue for us, pity the people with immediate needs for a spouse's or parent's resources.

@Heartlander I can apply probate myself ( This is the law in our country) by using Assets Tracing Investigator and a Probate Service to help me to fill in the form. Probate service or lawyer doesn't need to represent me in the court. I represent myself in the court.
The more and more I talk to the lawyer. The more I feel like they are helpless as well. Why do I pay expensive fee for the lawyer while they can't do an excellent job?
I can buy the Executor Liability Insurance as they cover up me from being errors.
Rules in the US can't apply to me. I don't live in the US.

@Arrow17 Ahhhhh ... You are not in the US :) But sounds like similar process. In the US you also don't "need" a lawyer if your are comfortable handling it all yourself. But if there are probate assets the banks won't turn over the assets without a probate court's OK, whether you do that through a lawyer or do it yourself. When I looked through the forms, etc. the "how to" was pretty straight forward.
