Events like these make me think what a contrast of privilege vs poverty exists in the world. There are people out there who are forced to live in extreme conditions and lose their homes and lives due to the weather... and there are others who are willing to risk it all for a hobby or an ego boost. It might sound cynical but in my opinion those willing to take such risks should sign a paper declaring not to be looked after once they depart. Rescuers have families to go back to as well, plus the cost of searching/rescuing is a high.
Such a shame.
