Too bad for his wife and two young children. May he rest in peace.

@phoenixrising and the guns remain! Good job.

@pdockal As motives are hard to prove, when the weapon is right there in the open. All I'm going to say, I'm decidedly staying away from this subject because I know in about two days with this world it will almost be forgotten and only those making it political will let it remain for their benefit in how they feel their purpose is gained. (This applies both ways)
Sad world.

@awildsheepschase
Then you don't know the law as motive determines the degree of the crime & punishment
Your missing my point
The reason why somebody decides to murder/assassination is more important then the means they choose to commit said act
If that was the focus of people outrage then maybe we can fix the issues

@pdockal I'm aware of that, I am also aware it's hard to prove what the motive was/is. Motives like anything else need to be proven beyond reasonable doubt and without conjecture, so...

@awildsheepschase
without a motive the weapon is only one piece
but were off point
to solve the issue with these events we need to know what drives people to think that assinations are the answer to what is bothering them
if you cant see that & ONLY blame the gun then you are the problem also

@pdockal But proving a motive is still conjecturing, I know society wants to convict upon so they can be judge & jury. Law does not work in conjecture, will listen to conjecture, but still seen as conjecture. It's not inadmissible, but still falls under beyond reasonable doubt and something so fresh (and political) is certain to raise questions.
If you think I'm blaming the gun you are blind to my point. Law still needs to be law and find beyond reasonable doubt. The only thing known at this point is the murder, the weapon, and those are beyond reasonable doubt.
Even the person you took offense to was bringing up a valid point, why do we focus on motives when we give them the means? Maybe's that's the better phrasing, more of a cultural question than jurisprudence?

@awildsheepschase
unfortunately your confused
maybe motive isnt the correct word for you to comprehend that the law isnt the issue, the punishment or lack there of isnt the issue
if the perpertrators dont have the desire to assisinate/murder then it doesnt matter if the means are or arent available
thats the point of ALL my replies to this sensitive topic

@pdockal I'm not, it's way too quick to draw any conclusion how Charlie Kirk died.... but it fits a narrative for you, so thats fine. I am only saying you don't know the motive yet.
The means matter a lot. something's don't happen when you don't give means.But I get it America never wants any quesitons about gun laws. Why is that? You want the means to kill people and then ask why they did while having the most upset society never getting along? If we are talking motive? -- Some of us understand take the means away and the guns away --
But I note I give reasons and you try to say I'm confused.

@pdockal My actual human response, no one family should deal with how Charlie Kirk died, but America has found it's ferris wheel in obscurity in beingn imhuman, and it's going to take a long time before America joins the rest of the world if undertsanding life and love, that it's beyond conquering the world, being a bad neighbour, but damn other journalists are held capture, censored, even facing death, so this conservative pundit is not outside the law of what that comes with. And if the world wants to make something of that, they could look upon the history of journalists who just die "randomly".
Its still not as black and white as you want to make it.

@pdockal I don't want to live in your country, I'm happily in my own. I wonder your response though, the great country with such great opportunity you can't accept reason. I am on topic, I am not in your selective topic which is not even your post..
@pdockal It may be Canada may have something up on your constitution, we knew how to be together, respect, love each other. Loving each other is on topic instead of this endless hate south of my border.
It is not your topic to say what is on topic, and a society more open, loving, and giving is right on topic. They don't happen here as they do in the States, why?
