Have u heard of Terminal Lucidity?

It's a surge of energy and clarity some gravely ill patients experience before death. He/she might be in a coma, expected to die, when suddenly they sit up in bed and say they're hungry or thirsty and begin to talk with clarity. Then they drop off to sleep and die.

Someone told me such a story a few years ago, but could not believe it until I read an article in Psychology Today recently.

Has anyone experienced this with relatives or friends?

Both my mom and my husband experienced a surge of energy when they were near death. My mom, about a week before dying and it lasted a couple of days. My husband, the day before dying. Unfortunately neither just dropped off to sleep and died. The process was far more torturous.

@OlderSometimesWiser were they expected to die?
@Wiseacre Oh yes, no question about it. Straight from the doctors mouths. Medicine today, they pull no punches.

Just before her death my mother in law sat up and bed and began pointing and naming dead relatives. Obviously seeing things we in the room couldn’t see.

I listened to a podcast about it last week. It’s really interesting!

@Wiseacre it’s what you’re talking about. sometimes the patient will get a boost of energy and will appear as that they are getting better and then die unexpectedly

@TurtlePink thnx..never heard of Rally.

Never heard of it. Sounds kind of unpleasant to witness.
Wiseacre · F
@Dolimyte I think it's cruel for those left behind.
