After they have gone.....

..,...do you still celebrate someones birth date after they have passed away?

Or do you mourn them on the date they have passed away?
Nope.
I remember them when i remember them ...its organic 🤷‍♀

@OogieBoogie I understand that.

I'm the same as Oogie except for one mate who died on another mates birthday so it's kinda impossible not to think of him on her birthday.

I always remember my bros that are gone, throughout the year. Some of their birthdays I don't remember but they are never forgotten. I will usually poor a drink on the day of their death and light a candle if I have one.

To my brother and my mum I raise a glass to them both and light candles on their birthdays.💚

I do not "celebrate" the birthdays of those loved ones that have left me but to those that very close, like family members, I place a flower next to their picture so as never to forget them.

I do the same for their death day but in addition, I silently thank them for what they have done for me while they were alive.

@Stephie That is lovely... I like that.
Yahrzeit candle is lit on each of those days.

Magenta · F
No, because they cease to have birthdays. Finito.

I may happen to notice it or acknowledge it in my mind (if I remember it) on that specific day, but that is it.
SledgeHammer · 46-50, M
@Magenta no no... I mean on the date they passed away...in the upcoming future of that date... Do you mourn again. The opposite of a birth day..

(I dont know how to explain it)
Magenta · F
@SledgeHammer Hmm. I don't keep track of when people have died. Occasionally I may remember or sometimes I will know because I make a conscious effort to look it up. I think my answer is no?
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
@Magenta They only ever have one birthday not a case of no more birthdays when they die.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
No but I always remember my parents birthdays. The date is the same and one month apart.
Both — if i cared for them, neither — if i didn't.

I have a beer on my brothers birthday.
Iwillwait · M
I do on my heart.

I think both?

I do both actually. I even buy flowers for my coffee table on each occasion.
