[personal] RIP Stanley, late USA Army vet! 🇺🇸🫡

While waiting for the bus, to go to a store and then some breakfast, I received some saddening news today, from the niece of recent neighbor.

My neighbor, who was evicted a month ago, has passed away. The truly sad part, of this whole tragedy, is it could have been prevented.

He wasn't a bad man himself. Sadly, his niece informed me, that he was found in the desert, a few miles away from here.

@sarabee1995 Motorola cellphones only get two system updates. You can look that up. I have had this cell phone many years now. I can't update it anymore. Gboard doesn't help with that if you don't have the update.

@sarabee1995 That keyboard you see in that image IS the Gboard keyboard. See the star on the right? That's the settings button.

Gboard only shows you the emojis on your system. Nothing more. Actually it doesn't even show you all the emojis either! Yet if it's not on your system, it can't show it!

Gboard won't show you them. But all of those and hundreds more are on your system!

Emojis and more are apart of the Unicode standard that gets updated yearly. It's part of the reason why you need to update your system every so often.

New additions, like the emojis, to the Unicode standard, then a new system update is needed.

I'm ONLY allowed two SYSTEM updates of those upgrades on my Motorola cellphone!

Again you can check this out on Motorola's website! The two system updates are mentioned there!

This is why Motorola cellphones are so cheap yet still have most of the new high quality hardware stuff!

@DeWayfarer Interesting. I know that emojis are part of the unicode standard, but I did not know that a phone maker could restrict you from using the free unicode standard on your phone. That kinda sucks to be honest.

@sarabee1995 oh I could root my cellphone. Yet that would void the warranty and my carrier would have fits as well.
