How? I had pneumonia once and had no idea. I just thought I had flu that was taking longer than usual. Either way, you should take antibiotics for any strong cough that doesn't go away and is accompanied by fever.

@CrazyMusicLover classic antibiotics work only to treat bacteria. One should not take them just for fever with or without a cough. That decision should be made with consultation with a physician, but the OP seems unwilling to do that.

@CrazyMusicLover I am only reacting to the way your note for as written. I spent many hours, when in person active, explaining why i was not prescribing an antibiotic, more time than if i simply wrote a prescription. The excessive use of antibiotics, particularly in agriculture, has PR duce the problem of resistance.

@samueltyler2 I remember how it was a norm to prescribe antibiotics a lot when I was a kid and then suddenly I went without them for many years.
