He never was able to find out who "The Real Killer" was.
@Barefooter25 Simpson confessed to it in his book
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
@NativePortlander1970 He did go to prison for 9 years for selling counterfeit sports memorabilia in Las Vegas.
@Barefooter25 I was down the street doing a security gig when he got busted for that, which in reality was not justice for Nicole or Ron.

@Barefooter25 he went to prison for stealing stuff he thought belonged to him and kidnapping. Like killing his ex-wife because he thought she belonged to him.
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
@Carla That and poor Ron Goldman got caught in the middle of it all.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Barefooter25 indeed.

@Barefooter25 He was sentenced to 33 years, got parole after 9.
Another case of a warped legal system, not a justice system.

Harsh? Hardly.
He was an actor. A B actor, true, but still... he knew how to play to the camera. I wonder why so little attention was given to the idea that the reason those gloves didn't fit in the courtroom - and why he was quick to put them on - was because he deliberately didn't use his meds that eased the swelling in those hands.

@RenFur My older stepsister, who was a lead prosecutor for eight counties before she retired in 2022, strongly believes that any attorney that knowingly gets a guilty person acquitted should be disbarred, alongside ambulance chasers that file frivilous personal injury lawsuits that are obvious scams.

LOL
That makes too much sense. Do you know how many new jails we'd need to be built for all the crooked lawyers?

@JSul3 I have seen many cases where a warped legal system cuts a felons sentence by half and they are out of prison before they even serve 3/4 of their sentence. The only thing a warped legal system does is emotionally hurt and ignore the families of victims.

@NativePortlander1970 Did you ever watch that movie “Devil’s Advocate”?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Barefooter25 Never spent time for murder though.
@cherokeepatti Great movie, the beginning scene with the molestor and what he's doing to the table and Keanu noticing, Keanu still initially getting the vermin off, despite what he saw, the subsequent movie, realizing it was a vision then quitting as counsel?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@NativePortlander1970 Yes and something that obvious to him and he still didn’t drop the client. He was in it for his ego to keep winning cases to keep his reputation up, probably was going to get paid a small fortune too.
@cherokeepatti My step sister loves that movie, despite her hatred of horror, because it showcases the immorality and unethics of winning an obviously guilty client case at all costs. She also loved Matlock because the first thing he essentially said to a client is, "Did you do it? Because if you did, find another lawyer."

@NativePortlander1970 That one and Angel Heart were released the same year and became favorites. Angel Heart is a movie about a famous singer who sold his soul to get a successful career. A lot of symbolism in it as well. I felt that both these movies were based on real events.

@RenFur His lawyers were concerned the glove might injure his check-writing hand.
