Some secrets can really hurt others

I'm now in that group where I should have been more honest and open, I should have been the one to open up. Instead, it was a drunken friend that told my husband everything that I waited too long to say. He's upset, and I'm struggling to make it up to him. No, nothing that will kill the relationship, but it will leave a scar.

If I have any advice, it's to make sure that you're the one that reveals your secrets. It'll keep the sting to a minimum.

Yes. This is the best way to be.

Very true. When our SO hears it from our lips, it’s 100% better than from someone else!

I hope your relationship recovers from this. Some people can’t keep shocking secrets. Alcohol just makes things worse.

How 'bout you just talk about it? I would think it coming straight from you would carry enough weight that it could be resolved??🤗🤗

Some things are best left unsaid.

Sounds like the friend really wanted to tell. I get so tired of people using booze as an excuse for what they do.
She should have told you to get a move on and tell your husband.

I really dislike people thinking it's okay to do things that cause harm to others and their relationships... especially if it's something in the past or not relevant anymore. This happens in friendships, marriages, families, etc....

Just my opinion.

@SW-User My "friends" are more like people I knew for a while. Not good influences and definitely not relationship experts. But I live too close to just get rid of them.

@mariannezap With friends like that, I wouldn't be sharing much of anything.

@SW-User And yet, the community is great outside of a handful of people. Always gotta be a turd in the pool wherever you live though.
