English woman would beat the shit out their partner.. I’m skeptical
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Thats so stupid

Same thing here, where the wife and kids pray that dad's favorite team wins, because if they lose, he takes it out on them.

@LeopoldBloom I worked (in the US) for Child Protective Services (CPS) for 30 years; what you posted is true.

Unfortunately, from my experience, it’s happened during the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl too!
Domestic violence and racism. On another level every single time
I mean anyone would think most men beat up their wives and most women get beaten. 🙄

@ShenaniganFoodie you missed the point
I wonder what motive a Welsh woman would have to speak so about the English…
It kind of makes sense though. Inadequate and emotionally immature people reacting like children to a game going wrong. Uncontrolled temper tantrums. Well adjusted, happy people would not likely be abusing anyone or losing the plot at a game of kicky ball.
That's messed up

probably because they got drunk .. not that that excuses them
@GoFish not an excuse at all

@Carysoflife of course sigh 😳

@RachelLia2003 why did you say that British people are alcoholic then ?
RachelLia2003 · 22-25, F

@jshm2 Hey you’re actually correct about something for once… but of course it is a negative thing.
I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day, so let’s not get too excited.

even just tying s much of your emotional well-being to something that you have zero control r influence on. a bit crazy all the way around.
Sadly, domestic abuse cases spike regardless of if England win or lose. Accuracy is important when it comes to such facts.
@HootyTheNightOwl look it up then
@Carysoflife Ok, I'll humour you...

Now, show me where I was wrong in what I said... 26% more women and children getting abused when England win might not be as high as 38% when they lose - but it's still a significant number and backs up my claim that domestic abuse cases spike regardless of if England win or lose in the World Cup (I didn't specify any percentages).

I would say it amplifies an existing problem - that "group" is just looking for excuses so they can act out on the impulses they already have...if it's not football, it's because of (fill in the blank) _______ ....

Very sad for people that are stuck in these homes with these people...😔

Imagine doing anything because your football team lost. Imagine sitting there and watch someone else chase a ball around. These games are for kids to play in a park at a picnic. Why any interest beyond that developed I don't know.
Perpetrators frequently use external events to justify their actions. A football or rugby loss provides a convenient excuse to deflect blame away from themselves ("You shouldn't have bothered me after the team lost") narrative.

My brother-in-law has hit my FIL over a lost game. There are some pretty fuked up a$$holes living amongst us.
