Does anyone else have this thing where you highly dislike when strangers repeat your name to you?

Call it a quirk I guess but I do not like when say I have a nametag on and someone just takes that as an opportunity to wear it out. Hi Ivan. How are you doing today Ivan? Can I get some of those Ivan? Please bag that together Ivan. Thank you Ivan. Have a good day Ivan. All in a single conversation. Oi.

You know it's one way to get my attention or to ask my name or even introduce yourself but to use it like that feels almost weaponized?

When I've had a name tag on, I haven't much minded someone using it to address me. Whenever someone keeps repeating my name over and over though, it gets annoying to me...also.

I feel the same way. I wear a name tag at work too and people always ask how to pronounce my name. Then I start feeling like they are going to complain about me.

If I’m wearing a name tag, and the person initially greets me using it, that’s okay.

But if they keep repeating it like that, that’s just unnecessary and annoying; they know my name, I know they know my name, and it hasn’t changed since the last time they addressed me by it ! 😳
