Omg, we can't even say the word "abortion" now?!

Apparently that word can be too incendiary for some people. Gawd damn, I thought that A-word scene from Knocked Up was just a joke. 🙄

Tbh, it is almost as silly as a time where people were trying to censor the word God 😂

Banning vocabulary seems childishly silly

@Iwantyourhotwife Agreed. Even with profanity. It's like, everyone swears! Why are we still censoring it? It's ridiculous.

@Ducky
everyone swears!
No they don't. Even in the US it wasn't as common last time I was there as it had been ten years earlier. I try to avoid it myself, unless the situation is extreme enough to warrant it.

Swearing all the time is pointless, it leaves you with no way to quickly express how you feel in extremis.

@ninalanyon Maybe not in your area, but it seems pretty common to me.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Ducky Definitely common. In the derogatory sense that is.
Ducky · 31-35, F
@ninalanyon I don't know what that means, lol.

@Ducky As used in the British English phrase 'common as muck' when referring to a person or their habits.

common adjective (LOW CLASS)
disapproving
typical of a low social class:
My mum thinks dyed blonde hair is a bit common.

@ninalanyon I see. Well, it is the US. But I don’t find profanity particularly a low class thing. One’s behavior determines poor class, profanity is just words. But we can agree to disagree on that.
