I’m not Catholic, and while I don’t believe in purgatory, the concept makes sense to me.

A place where the not-hopelessly-Evil are sent when they’ve got behavior to answer for before they face final judgment. Sort of like spiritual summer school. I think a lot of us might find ourselves in such a place, cramming for finals.

I wouldn't call it "purgatory," that's something the Roman Catholic church invented so you can buy your loved ones out of Hell. I would call it the "Bardo," the in-between death and your next life.

Seems like this world we live in is a purgatory if you think about it. I believe we come here to learn to love and be grateful for whatever we have.
