Balance is everything, tbh. Having an option to be alone when you need it is very important but so are meaningful interactions. The longer you live like a hermit, the harder it can be to get back to society even if you'd want to. I heard that it's also very important in the elderly because interacting with other people helps preventing decline of cognitive functions.
