Just try this. Put the phone down for a few minutes. Try to blank your mind. Blank it from all the “I wish I had”s and “I want to do”s. Take a couple deep breaths and think to yourself “Am I happy where I’m at?”
I was scared to post this question. Everyone’s answer will be different. Some may find it triggering, some may find it silly. But I’ll share my answer.
Short answer: Yes, I am happy where I’m at.
Long answer: I fought for where I’m at. The woman I married I have known since 2013. While our paths always crossed but never ran alongside. I always hoped she could one day be a permanent part of my life. That our paths would finally parallel. For many years I told myself that this was the universe where I may just never have her hand. Until one day in 2022 when I saw her again after almost 5 years. After we talked for nearly 6 hours on the phone, a week later I was picking her up 2 states away. Our paths were finally together.
Where our lives go from here is completely up to us. Kids? Adventures? Do I wish I could have gone somewhere with my amateur racing career? Yes. Am I sad I didn’t? Hell no.
I may delete this post after some time. But I wanted to share it with you.
