What is the saddest moment of a person's life?

Top | New | Old
Magenta · F
Idk about the saddest. But losing someone you love / are emotionally connected to who is still living, is right up there.

Probably different for each person, it's not black and white. When my mom was dying it was about her children and that she would miss out on their lives.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@Magenta love made the sadness stronger
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
To me its not even death. I handle death very well. God decides that he wants people back. He has the power to do that .What's sadder to me is losing someone whose alive. Someone's whose warm embrace you can still feel. You can still see them and touch them every day. You can decide that you want them back, but you have no power.
Magenta · F
@AngelUnforgiven Exactly how I feel. It's not the death, it's when they still live.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@AngelUnforgiven That's a very good point.
Boeing · 36-40New
@AngelUnforgiven oh no that truly is.. 🤗
Pretzel · 70-79, M
so many

finding out Santa isn't real
that your parents aren't perfect
that the love of your life doesn't love you
getting fired
the death of your first loved one
the death of a pet
and what Achelois said - the "what ifs"
Pretzel · 70-79, M
@Khaira and it depends on your outlook

life can either be long periods of disappointment with a few surprise elements of joy or

long periods of contentment with many sad events peppered throughout.
@Pretzel

I am not comparing myself with you. 🙏

But I knew some of it.

Finding out Santa isn't real,
that your parents aren't perfect,

(Last time I saw my so-called dad at Mom's funeral.)
That the love of your life doesn't love you.

The death of a loved one.

And
the death of a pet.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
@valobasa4ever I don't consider it comparing - they are just common pains that people feel. Instead of looking at our differences I hope that one day we will remember that we are all on this rock hurtling through space and have the same joys and hopes.

Yeah..maybe that is a little "kumbaya" of me...I still have hope.
stayfickle · 26-30, FNew
I think it’s more of the internal build up conflicts and doubts resulting on seeing things as monotonous is the saddest moment I can think of?
Yourbeau · M
@stayfickle That’s a really profound way to look at it. It’s tough when internal struggles make everything feel monotonous.
fun4us2b · M
When you lose someone you care about...or they get hurt. Worrying about a child is pretty high up there too.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@fun4us2b yes i understand about that, child is very important
Losing loved ones. I can't get my mind off it. Not just who I've lost but who I will lose.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@SinlessOnslaught you're overthinking
@Khaira But I will lose them

When chips are over, and I'm trying to collect the crumbs from the end of the package but there's only salt left. A pigeon next to my bench and nothing to give him.

Khaira · 36-40, F
@valobasa4ever i'm sorry to hear that
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Depends on the person. For most it's the death of a person they are emotionally attached to.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@CrazyMusicLover what about you?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Khaira It applies to me too.
Khaira · 36-40, F
Coming to the realization that they're basically alone in the world and no one is coming to save them is up there. Idk about saddest though.

Losing a loved one thru death or estrangement
Khaira · 36-40, F

Losing a loved one through a break up or death.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@Bowenw which one sadder between those two?
Bowenw · 61-69, M
@Khaira They are different. The most hurt I have felt was after being dumped by someone I thought loved me.
Finding out that they have a legal right to a name... but not the right to KNOW what their own name is.
