Have you ever visited a Mosque to look what's inside? I've never been to a Church, I would like to explore one for fun some day

I have been to a number of mosques in different countries. Some were off limits to non-Muslims so I could just admire them from outside; some did let me enter. Some are very beautiful, some are simple, but my general feeling from them is one of peacefulness.
You are welcome to visit Jewish synagogues in your explorations too!
@ThePatientAnarchist I would visit synagogues but we don't have any in Egypt.
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether I found an article from a couple of years ago saying that there are no active synagogues in Egypt anymore but that at least one of the old synagogues, the Ben Ezra Synagogue in old Cairo, is open for tourists.

The one I visited was just an empty room for people to pray in, with the niche on one side indicating the direction of Mecca. My understanding is that this would describe most mosques. I would expect that the larger ones might have storage areas or administrative offices unless those are separate buildings. The Great Mosque of Mecca has an interior courtyard with that big black box you see in photos of the Hajj.

I've been in many churches and synagogues. All of them have a sanctuary or special room where prayer services are held, along with offices for the clergy, other offices and storerooms, and often classrooms for Sunday school, Hebrew school, Bible study, AA meetings, etc., and usually a kitchen, and of course restrooms and anything else you would expect to find in a large building where people gather.

Yes, when I was in Turkey, even the smallest neighbourhood mosques or camii's as they call it there were so beautiful in the interior.

Of course I live in Singapore and have been to the local mosques as well which are also very nice if a bit modern
Nope, and honestly, I don't feel like stepping in one.
I've been to many old churches and cathedrals, they are architectural feats and contain so much human history.
@EarthlingWise That is understandable

I've been in one, yeah.
We have a large South African Muslim population.

Do check out the churches, especially ancient ones. Coptic, Ethiopian, Armenian, and Greek cathedrals and churches are beautiful.
I love visiting different places of worship, I've been to many churches and of course I've been to mosques. They opened the first Hindu temple in my city this year so I'll eventually check that out
@HijabaDabbaDoo I think in Egypt that would be ancient Egyptian temples. I haven't visited any, I never been to Southern Egypt where they are. I've seen them in museums.
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether Egyptian history is so rich in depth, I wouldn't even know where to start. What about burial sites of prophets or Sufi saints? The last two I visited were in Oman, I visited a few in Pakistan too.
@HijabaDabbaDoo I visited the prophet of Islam burial site in Saudi Arabia. And Othoman kings burial sites in Turkey.

Yes, on a trip abroad we visited several mosques in Albania. I forget now if we also visited some mosques in other countries.
Some are very ornate and some are not. That's not what counts. Has nothing to do with salvation. The Bible says that church is a place where we get our spiritual food, worship the Lord, and fellowship with other believers.
Not that I remember. I should do that some day.

i dont think youre allowed to unless youre muslim

my muslim friend snuck me in one time, told me to say im muslim if anyone asks

i just saw the lobby and what looked like urinals but they were to wash your feet
@Matt85 laughing at the last sentence.

I Was one b4fore. You are allowed inside especially if it's an ancient one like I saw in Turkey. A lot of non muslims were exploring Hagia Sophia mosque.

I'm sure you'll find yourself massively underwhelmed.

Yeah, i have been to several mosques just to see inside of them. My first mosque i visited was in Egypt actually. Check out the coptic churches when you get the chance
Never a mosque but many chapels
Unsurprisingly, there are Muslims in a Mosque.
