A sin of commission is a sin that we commit by doing something we shouldn't do. A sin of omission is a sin we commit by not doing something we should do. A sin of commission is a sin we take action to commit, whether in thought, word, or deed. In the final analysis I would say the sin of commission is worse.

Case dependencies apply.
If you're are paid (commissioned) for a minor lie, is that not less than a death, because of your own mistake (omissioned)? Second degree murder is often such a mistake of omission. Say you failed to stop for a red light.
Yet if you are paid (commissioned) to shoot someone, is that not worse, than not telling the truth, because you forgot (omissioned) the truth?

Omissions are not always a moral failure — they can be a result of helplessness, not carelessness.

Commission. If I omit certain information while talking to someone, it is usually with good purpose.
