I saw the Dalai Lama once by accident. He was at the local university giving a speech, but I had no idea he was even in town. There are some really nice hiking spots in the mountains nearby, so I went there on one of my days off to hit the trails. I always swung by the university after my hikes there because I really like the architecture and atmosphere. It's a very well-kept campus.
Well that one day, I just happened to be making my rounds when I saw a bunch of news vans and police around a certain building. I had no idea what was going on, but I had no intention of sticking around because I didn't think whatever it was was all that interesting. That was until I saw a bunch of Buddhist monks start walking out of the building in a very peculiar formation. Then more cops come out, and then more monks, and then the news people start taking pictures and video. I thought it was very unusual, so I decided to see what the hubbub was about
A couple of seconds later, the Dalai Lama emerges and I recognized immediately who it was. If I wasn't so exhausted from my hike, I might have been more excitable, but at that time I was just really tired and hungry and thinking about getting food to recharge. Luckily for me, he didn't stick around long. Just got in a car right away.
Funnily enough, I ran into a coworker at the restaurant I went to immediately afterwards, even though both of us work like 45 minutes away. It was another odd coincidence in a day full of them, I guess

Louise Mandrell kissed me in 1989. Not a peck either. A real tonsilectomy.
I was in LasVegas at a convention and she randomly chose me out of the audience to come on stage during her show. She didn't know I could sing and perform, and we really had chemistry as far as timing and entertainment savvy. After we were done, she pulled me close, whispered in my ear "thanks, you were wonderful", and whamo! She took me completely by surprise. I don't think I've ever been kissed that deeply or with that much enthusiasm.

@Donotfolowme Sure they did, allegedly, but only still photos and not digital. This was 35 years ago. The company refused to give them to me UNLESS I did this , that, and the other thing with my sales. They basically put a quota on me and held the pics and me hostage, so I quit.
I mean, I earned a convention, but that wasn't good enough. I had some grainy polaroids that co-workers took and gave to me, but with moving, other jobs, etc. over the years, only one survived and that one I lost in a house fire along with my dog.
So no, I can't prove it, but I remember it like it was yesterday and that's all that matters. Anyway, that's my interesting story whether anyone believes it or not. 🙂

@Donotfolowme Thank you. The first thing I did was call my mom. She asked "Why you?" 🫤
She was more than proficient at bringing me back down to Earth. 🤦

I almost drowned in the ocean and had a profoundly spiritual experience. I was swimming near the shore when a huge wave swallowed me and pulled me so far into the ocean I could barely see the shore. I swam for my life and right when I almost reached the shore I was swallowed by another one. I went under and I wasn't sure which way was up or down but thankfully I was able to make ot back to the shore. I was very depressed and suicidal at the time. I remember thinking this was a perfect way for me to die without committing suicide but I kept swimming. I realised that I had a strong desire to stay alive and I had to hold onto that despite how hard it was.

I'm almost ready to take down a bunch of religions and nations based on them.
