[Personal] I can't say how much I dislike changing phones!

Few would believe all the problems I have gone through just to get this new phone.

Now I must download everything and recustomize all of that to my own preferences. And geesh all the darn accounts that must be updated. 😢

I agree, it is always a major source of stress. All my office connections use some form of authentication and that all gets messed up.
Having an eSIM capable phone helps, at least you don't need to wait for a SIM card or go pick one up, it can all be done remotely.

@JamesBugman odd that you mentioned eSIM. That actually might be the problem with this cellphone. My provider doesn't even know what that is and I bought this cellphone from them. 🤷🏻‍♂
@DeWayfarer *#06# on android phone will tell you your eSIM number, if it has one.

@JamesBugman I know this. Yet my provider keeps on wanting the 19 digit SIM number and won't even hear about the darn 32 digit eSIM number!

I don't know how many times I have given both IMEI1 and IMEI2 numbers either.

Don't you save everything in a cloud account? The last time I changed phones, I had to do almost nothing.

What it means (irl or here) is just that I have nothing to add to your comment, nothing to object to, nothing to agree with. Simply an acknowledgement that you spoke to me, but to which I have no strong feelings.

I'm very tech centered, you are very anti-tech. Neither of us is right or wrong. You do you and I'll do me. That's about it. 🤷‍♀

@sarabee1995 Not quite as anti tech as you might think. Just far more cautious.

I have run a website off my cellphone! And with a SQL sever on the other end.

If it is an Android and you have a Google account then most of the settings for apps should be saved in your account and when you connect the new mobile to Google it should off to reinstall apps and settings. At least that's how it worked last time I got a new mobile.

There's no way to authenticate! 🤷

@ninalanyon I changed my phone a couple of months ago - Google helped but it wasn't quite as seamless as I'd hoped.

I have my phone all backed up to my computer. I also have the option to back it up to the cloud.

@Jonjdw Can't backup accounts though. That's my biggest problem.

Documents and everything else is backed up on SD cards.

Heck I even have Gboard shortcuts backed up. Still need to import that though.

@dragonfly46 Well I managed to recover 2 out of three email accounts. And the third I need to wait 30 days!

Not easy remembering all this stuff though.

The old cellphone is a goner. 😢

@Moneyonmymind Nah, just realistic. The $300 renewed phone works exactly the same as the $2000 one.
