I don't post personal stuff here often

So, this week was actually a good week for me.

When I got hired at my current job, I had a huge task of completely organizing a parts crib for a factory of 50+ gigantic injection and foam machines that had been moved to a new location with absolutely no plan or organization.

I spent all of last year lifting 20 - 150 lbs parts into places that I designated. I had full autonomy and control over how the crib was to be organized. I took information from the maintenance team to make sure that it was organized to make their work more efficient.

I got a year's worth of work done in under 6 months. The crib passed its first major audit with not just flying colors, but with future mindedness as well.

Once I got the crib organized, my passion for the job kind of flagged. In Jan, my helper and girlfriend of my son got into a car accident, putting her on bed rest till just this last month.

There is still organization that needs to be done, but I just had lost my mojo. Finally, this week, I seemed to have found it again and did so much that I am and entering the weekend feeling good about things once more.

It is nice leaving work feeling like I did something again.

Did the men resent your work?

@samueltyler2 Eh...yes and no. They still can be petty, but I know which of them are and can usually be a few steps ahead of them. They usually like to complain that they can't find what they are looking for, but neber ask, never look up what they are looking for and just wander around for a few moments before they complain.

For the most part, they can find a part within less than 3 minutes and if they can't, they come to me and if I can't find it, it's because we don't have it and it needs to be ordered.

So I think for the most part, I have gotten most of them past thinking I'm a "dumb woman". There will always be holdouts though.

@FoxyQueen who is responsible for the inventory?

@samueltyler2 It's kind of a mix. The bottom line is my team is, however, anyone getting a part from the crib is required to put it on a work order. If they don't, they can face disciplinary action. My team does not.

We do cycle counts per per audit requirements. That usually shows that parts aren't being signed out.
