Effort absolutely equals results. I haven't commented on many of your daily posts, but I have been following them.
Last year I had a couple surgeries myself together with some rehab (didn't talk about it much on here, except in private). I didn't like the progress predictions or rehab schedule they first laid out either ... So I decided I was going to put some extra effort myself.
And it paid off. I do have some titanium in me and I do feel it once in a while, but today, 14 months post surgery, I am back to 100% strength, range-of-motion, and 100% activity.
I would ask about the swimming. In my case, that was a HUGE part of the extra effort I put in. As soon as the incisions are closed (which is relatively quick) I was allowed in the water. I was doing laps at Craigville Beach on Cape Cod a little over a month post surgery (that was April and the water was freezing, but I'm a northern girl! 😏).
Keep it up, put in the work, and you will be back in your pool ion no time. 🙏🙏🙏

The hospital assistant surgeon told me id be disabled. I said hell no. I worked hard to get back on my feet. 3 months, but was not easy. Hug hug and good luck.
My Loa team called me after 3 months and said come back to work immediately or your fired. I went back, Dr was not happy about it.

@saragoodtimes I went up stairs on my rear end to start. We had 2 walkers. I eventually pulled myself up holding on the banister. 😀

@Confined Alan has talked about putting in a stair lift for me

Just work with the physios and you'll get there. Ask about the swim since it supports your weight some careful swimming might be a help. But getting in and out might be difficult.

Wishing you all the best. When I was 12 I dislocated the growth plate in my left hip. They had to put four screws in to hold it in place. I wasn't allowed to put any weight on my foot for 6 months. Everything went well. As an adult there is a natural bone that grows over the growth plate holding it in place. They had to x-ray my hip every few months because the screws had to come out before the bone grew over them. Two years later they removed the screws. The doctors orders after that was for me to go play football and lose some weight. Today I walk perfectly. I have faith that you will too. 🤗💝💝🤗

Eventually the physical therapists will be able to come to your home...which will be awesome! I KNOW you will be a champ!

You go to rehab and rush the recovery to get back on your feet and all you will do is put things back...could damage the injury again and walk with a limp and have to use a cane permanently

You definitely need to go scuba diving. The weightlessness of being underwater. So refreshing

@saragoodtimes This is the way ☝
(Not necessarily SCUBA, but water therapy -- as I said, it was a big part of my recovery.)

Something tells me you’ll over achieve in rehab. Good luck 👍
saragoodtimes · F

Have they offered possible hyperbaric treatments to get things healed faster?
saragoodtimes · F
@acpguy I'd rather be a cripple the rest of my life before getting in one of those chambers
