Day 10 Post-Op

sometime today it's off to rehab depending on when an ambulance crew is available. surgeon was in yesterday and provided more information. got good news and bad news. he said I should gain full mobility and walk normal again. however with the location of the break it will probably be 3-6 months before my hip is healed enough to take the weight of my body on it. he also said another 3-6 months before I'm walking with a normal gait but still with the aid of a cane. he said don't plan on driving anytime soon. didn't mention it and I didn't ask but looks like won't be having my morning dip in the pool while my coffee is brewing. was treated very well here at the hospital but Alan doesn't have privileges at the rehab hospital. not changing my attitude and will be on my feet and walking as soon as I can. effort= results. until tomorrow take care all and have a great day

Wishing you all the best. When I was 12 I dislocated the growth plate in my left hip. They had to put four screws in to hold it in place. I wasn't allowed to put any weight on my foot for 6 months. Everything went well. As an adult there is a natural bone that grows over the growth plate holding it in place. They had to x-ray my hip every few months because the screws had to come out before the bone grew over them. Two years later they removed the screws. The doctors orders after that was for me to go play football and lose some weight. Today I walk perfectly. I have faith that you will too. 🤗💝💝🤗
