@jehova I think I see your point. I regard the Gaia hypothesis rather romantic but not itself religious, as I define a religion as a belief in a super- or supra- natural deity, or set of deities. Gaia does not call for that although it might fit neatly with some religious views.

@ArishMell agree but my religious belief is that earth created life. Therefore gaia
(god) is earth. Did earth have a creator? Science helps me understand its\our existence.
As such for me earth and finding symbiosis is a religious pursuit\is my religion. Earth is super-natural to me so too is science.
Does everyones' definition have to be the same?
