There is a guy a town over

As of maybe 5 years ago yes in my small town. In fact my neighbour had a pumpkin patch with the same set up and a farmer who sells his eggs like that. However my village is growing and city people are moving in.

Our neighbours do the same for surplus vegetables, fruit, eggs. If the system is abused, people will stop doing it. Focuses the mind on what is a community . .

I would like to think I live in a honest neighborhood. I’m sure some people would take advantage but I would hope most would be honest.

It would turn into a community wood co-op. People buying some. Taking some. And replacing some. Everyone has a woodstove or fireplace in the neighborhood.

we have a guy here who does the same and in summer most of the corn stands have a box and use the honor system

perhaps so, but not for the firewood. i supspect woudl be a small group of women and gay ma ybe be willing to throw dollars in the jar to watch him split wood in the same way some men play women to dance on a pole.

a few do that around here, but it's pretty trashy/rotten firewood

No money and probably get 1000's of complaints against you for issues with the wood they took 🙄
