One do over?

If you could have one, and only one, do over, what would it be and why?
LadyGrace · 70-79
To know now, the lessons I've learned since I've became a Christian in 1973. I would have done much better.
HeavenBesideYou · 56-60, F
I wouldn’t have pushed when I should have pulled.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@HeavenBesideYou It only takes once to learn your lesson! I'm a puller too :)
HeavenBesideYou · 56-60, F
@JimboSaturn I wish I would have learned it after only once!!! But nooooo

When I was 16 I quit school. It was 1966 and I was going to run off to California and join a rock band. But I let my father and high school principal intimidate me into staying. If there was one thing I could change I woulda headed out on the highway that day. I'm 74. It has been a miserable worthless existence. Ya gotta follow your dreams. Even if it kills ya.

@hunkalove
Please explain to me how at the time, you thought that you could avoid the draft if you ran off to California and were obviously no longer enrolled in school, considering that Vietnam was in high gear in the late `60's?
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@swirlie I've been deaf in my left ear since I was 11.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@hunkalove
...which means you can still hear with 20/20 acuity in your right ear, correct?
Coldplay · 61-69, M
I wouldn't have got married when I did. Why? Because I question the match.
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
Chose the other university
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
@PoetryNEmotion that girl wanted me. I was not with anybody yet. She tempted me and no, i did not complete my medical training.
@ronisme1 Okay. I get the chick stuff. You don't seem like you would be into medicine as a career. What happened? If too personal, I apologize. You and I go way back to EP.
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
@PoetryNEmotion actually, i delivered one of my kids. We had a midwife and she allowed me to. (At home). What happened was chemistry. I hated it(with a passion). Turns out i was great at sales so i was inside sales rep at a bindery for making binders, menus and diploma covers and custom boxes
I wouldn't have been so snarky to my family. So they abandoned me - I win. They didn't deserve a single comment.
akindheart · 61-69, F
def my marriage
Coldplay · 61-69, M
@akindheart Makes 2 of us...
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Oh wow !
I'm sure my list wannabe do-overs is quite extensive 😁

Let's see....probably not marrying the woman i did.
She was the cause of a lot of pain over the years.

I wouldn't have gone into social work.
Maybe joined the Navy and had a completely different life.

But then who knows
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2
Actually, a law already exists... it's called a Court Order. A Court Order is filed through your Attorney which then prevents the person in question from coming within a set distance from your home/employer/etc.

If the person violates the Court Order, a simple phone call to local police will have them legally taken away under police escort, but without a Court Order, the police can do nothing for you unless the person in question has actually done something illegal.

Showing up and bothering you is not considered illegal, but violating a Court Order is grounds for immediate arrest.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@swirlie A court order means nothing without enforcement.
Being an aggravating nuisance is hardly likely to illicit an urgent response unless said person is deemed some sort of threat to those present.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2

...or is deemed a threat to themselves AND to those around them. Therein lies your answer.
BeJeweled · F
Not taken the path I took when I was 19.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@BeJeweled
...which was?
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
I would Un- born myself in this family.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
I wouldn't have bought the motorcycle and I would have used that money to buy Apple stock.
