Oh wow !
I'm sure my list wannabe do-overs is quite extensive 😁
Let's see....probably not marrying the woman i did.
She was the cause of a lot of pain over the years.
I wouldn't have gone into social work.
Maybe joined the Navy and had a completely different life.
But then who knows

Did you go into Social Work because of that woman you married who caused you grief?

@swirlie No. I was already there when we met.
Didn't stop her from randomly showing up at the office and making complaints about why i wasn't contactable by phone while working or griping to my boses about the hours i was contracted to do or why i had so many colleagues or resource providers in my phone that she didn't know.
It went on like that for nearly a decade !

I have a close relative who's like you've described your wife to be. My relative respects no personal boundaries of anyone's, shows up unannounced and uninvited when anyone least expects it, will bang on all the neighbor's doors if someone she's looking for doesn't answer their doorbell or their phone when she calls, will show up at places of employment stalking the individual who's avoiding her and let every work colleague know who she is and why she is there looking for someone.

@swirlie No filter beyond getting what they want.
Im becoming a grumpy so and so as i process the conclusion of this kind of experience.
I really think there needs to be a better use (probably of law already in existence) of law enforcement to prevent exactly this type of behaviour.

Actually, a law already exists... it's called a Court Order. A Court Order is filed through your Attorney which then prevents the person in question from coming within a set distance from your home/employer/etc.
If the person violates the Court Order, a simple phone call to local police will have them legally taken away under police escort, but without a Court Order, the police can do nothing for you unless the person in question has actually done something illegal.
Showing up and bothering you is not considered illegal, but violating a Court Order is grounds for immediate arrest.

@swirlie A court order means nothing without enforcement.
Being an aggravating nuisance is hardly likely to illicit an urgent response unless said person is deemed some sort of threat to those present.

...or is deemed a threat to themselves AND to those around them. Therein lies your answer.
