I've had sleep paralysis several times, usually when I'm drifting in and out of sleep. The first time it happened I was like omg and my stomach tensed up bc I thought I was gonna get stabbed there lol and my abs were sore after
But now when it happens, I find it cool and just try to wake up out of it

@deadgerbil it interesting how our brains start to understand and keep us calm once we've experienced it a few times. I usually am not scared anymore usually either

I haven't noticed an association with stress, but maybe sometimes when I use melatonin to force myself to sleep. It's been a while though. It's inconsistent.

@caccoon When Im at my most depressed/stressed I get this too. I always talk to them. It's scary, but it soon goes.

@SW-User it is scary!! I hope over time it feels less scary for you 💙 it is less scary for me, but I still get pretty freaked out when I think about it 😣😣

@Notsimilarreally I was not okay with it 🤣

@caccoon it happened to me once or twice, a dark figure was coming around the corner toward me. I was like 15 and had been up for days. It was really scary. But it wasn't really clear. And it hasn't happened since those days.
I wonder what a therapist would say about your experience

@Notsimilarreally eek!! Sleep deprivation can be very scary and hallucinatory!! I am glad you haven't had an experience like that since
And I am not sure!! I think that it's kinda fascinating. I do definitely think I experience during times of high stress or low lows
