Why life is so unfair?

There are people who are suffering from illnesses, wishing to live. Then, there are people who are suffering emotionally and just want to die to end the pain. But it seems unfair that the person who wants to live dies, and the person who wants to die lives longer, only to continue suffering through life and pain.
Why isn't it fair? The one who wants to live deserves to live. And the one who wants to die deserves to have their pain ended.

I wish they both could live.
I have thought this so many times.

Same reasons stars explode. Because everything is just the way it is. I accept everything the way it is. Helps keep the worries about things like fairness away. The very word would rot inside me and turn toxic if I actually considered the idea too much and judged the world by my own preconceptions. The world is, the way it is. I don't lament the ocean yearning for the shores. Nor do I cry for the valleys formed. They just... Happened.
It's rough, and seeing some examples of each can make things seem worse.

Life's vagaries are hard to understand.

It's definiteky true that things often go as you have observed, which seems manifestly unfair.

Given overpopulation neither can have any quality of life especially bc ppl over retirement age refuse to retire.
Unfortunately we were never promised that life would be fair. This is just another sad example of that.

Life is complicated. But it's important to find meaning in it.
