Do you know why trees are shaped the way they are?
My opinion but I believe they are shaped the way they are because they shelter all animals from the world. I used to sit under trees when i was younger because it felt like a safe haven from the world itself. I was always bullied growing up and sitting under trees always made me feel like there is still hope in the world.
They are trying to get as much sun as possible because they need to photosynthesize to get nutrition. They also protect young trees from harsh sun and feed them through the root system.
Yep. They are shaped to best suit the conditions they grow in.
Like alpine trees usually have needles instead of leaves so they can resist the cold. Desert trees have super deep roots and are tall and slim to absorb less midday sun . Some have shallow roots so they spread easy, some have deep roots for stability in poor soil. Some are made to bend in high winds while others grow wide for strength.
Their distinctive features from bark to shape of trunk, from leaf type to seed type are all the result of survival of the fittest so to speak.
