Have u ever been scared of getting HIV

What were the circumstances
Mindfuladventurer · 31-35, M
Yes twice. I travelled and you know what, you get everything you need in that place. so it was my first time and was not worried about spending. And I did I went raw all the time, tried everything and I thought I finally was happy but when I returned I had symptoms and I was so afraid to check to doc, I did the tests I am good so I get that confidence and did it again after some months and I found myself safe again but then I felt that no I gotta be careful and never to repeat again. Thanks to god so far. But am still depressed coz I don’t get what I want

@Mindfuladventurer where were u Dominican or Cuba hahhaa
@Mindfuladventurer Why would you keep having unprotected sex? You do not learn. Geez.
Mindfuladventurer · 31-35, M
@PoetryNEmotion well the plastic doesn’t work on me. What to do ?
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Yes, back in the 80s (when I was having a lot of gay sex and using drugs) I got tested a number of times...but fortunately never tested positive.
robertsnj · 56-60, M
@DragonFruit I had gay friends that felt that way too. I felt bad because they had to endure the instane stigma that the moral majority in the USA pushed upon them stacked ontop of the devistating effect of HIV I think some of them may have been positive and never told anyone.

I cried with Jujubee came out as positive on RuPaul's drag race. Not just for her but for all of you and all the pain and humaliation aids caused upon the gay community. It was just so cruel, all of it.

Yeah, I used to share needles with my childhood best friend.

This is the most embarrassed I've been answering a question here, I think.
Northwest · M
HIV, at one point, was in the blood supply, so there was reason to worry.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Northwest hospitals in NJ put HIV needles out to sea and they washed up on the beach at seaside heights. That was like 1990 and it was scary .
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
Back in the 80s. Didnt quite understand it
Primnproper · 56-60, F
Back in the late 80s early 90s before blood for tranfusions were being properly screened, i was.. but that was the only way it concerned me.
smiler2012 · 56-60
@NinaCherry when it was first out in the mid eighties i think it put fear into a lot of people and being encouraged too use condom they where scary times
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
Yeah one time I knew I shouldn’t have fucked this chick without a rubber . I went and got tested I was good tho. But I was scared.
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
Not yet. I have never had sex.

I have had blood transfusions but I presume they screen them well.
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
More overly cautious than scared maybe
robertsnj · 56-60, M
that is neat question. Not so much. When I was dating I used protection and am not into anal sex. I had unprotected sex when I was in a monogamous relationship. that was way before the age of Tinder and such though---probalby be really different answer if I was closer to your age and on the market today
Penny · 46-50, F
anytime you mess around with someone theres that possibility lol. ive realized this as ive gotten older.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Thankfully no. Haven't required blood, minimal casual sex and it was always protected.
RenFur · 70-79, M
Once. She was a wobbly hitchhiker dressed in an evening gown at 10 in the morning.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
I slept w a chick without a condom in like 1989 and I was freaked out for a long time .
Procrastablogger · 26-30, M
Not particularly only time you have unsafe sex is with someone you’re safe with
In the 80s it was a concern, and I lost several friends to AIDS.
Back then it wasn’t just sex; people contracted HIV through blood transfusions, IV drug use.
MrsMONAKanful · 36-40, F
No I don’t have sex often enough I never have sex
No. I have no way of getting it.
Nope, never concern
Yes. When it first hit the scene I saw a PSA with young men saying "it's not gonna happen to me" "it's not gonna happen to me". Then I caught myself saying it! Nevermind that I wasn't going to have sex for another few decades, I said "it's not gonna happen to me"!
