Money doesn't buy happiness, but most couples don't fight over having too much of it either.

As someone who grew up in the lower brackets of income of which myself brothers and uncles have all achieved a decent level of financial success

It stops becoming important once your needs are met tbh … once you have enough to not worry about food housing etc and after that it’s less important.

Also depends on the individual and their thought processes in life.

I like material things but I’m not attached to them to an extent where I feel like a bigger boat or nicer watch will improve my mental health in anyway.

The farther we’re removed from nature and creating things the less happier we become.

Once you’re able to comfortably pursue life without worrying about filling the gas tank or stressing over the washing machine breaking… it’s whatever

Unfortunately
It was important to me in that I detest paying interest and so I strived to pay off everything much faster than the original terms called for (what a wise man once told me about interest: "the only money worth having is someone else's").
But once you are essentially debt free, have a reserve stashed away and your income exceeds your outflow..... It seemingly becomes MUCH less important to you.
It's a great relief not to have that financial worry in your everyday life.

If you have money, it’s a 2. If you don’t have money, it’s a 12…

It has become the most important because it is distributed like drugs.. and the entire population is addicted to it.

It's an unfortunate necessity, that is of great importance. 8
