I Was Woke Before it was Cool

Hey it was the 60's and the world was going to change by the force of our will! Keep the fight alive, never give up the dream. One day, we will all live as one! Not tomorrow, not soon, but one day. Or we will all kill each other, or a comet or something. But still why not at least keep trying? All we are saying, is give peace a chance...

I was always wide awake, so I was never woke. Thankfully!

@LordShadowfire Yup... I'm not any of that... nothing faddish or superficial or destructive about me.
I'm awake... so I can't go woke.

@chilloutab2 You're unaware of the struggles of other races and proud of it. Okay.
chilloutab2 · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire You are assuming I'm white... which I'm not. You are assuming I do not face racism as a member of my race, where you're wrong. You may also be assuming that non-white people cannot be racist, where you're wrong.

@chilloutab2 I absolutely don't assume non-white people can't be racist. That's a racist belief in itself. In fact, I lost an online friend over an argument on that subject. Dude thinks I'm some kind of white supremacist now, because he tried to say black people can't be racists, and I called him on his bullshit.

As far as the rest of your statement, how was I supposed to know? You're just some dude on the internet. Hell, for all I know, you could be a middle-aged white guy catfishing as a black guy. (I'm not saying you are, just saying that's the nature of the internet.)

I'm glad you personally have never faced racism because of your race, but the fact is, plenty of people do. I've seen some of it firsthand. I once sent a subcontractor of ours who happened to be Mexican to Home Depot to pick up a few things, and told him to do a phone sale. (That's where you go and get the items, then have the store clerk call a phone number you give them, and that person gives them the card number over the phone.) The cashier tried to tell him they don't do that. Bullshit they don't do that; they do it for our white subcontractors all the damn time.

@LordShadowfire What the f are you on about?

Stop with your American-isms... it's incomprehensible to us in other parts of the world!!!

And what the fuck is this statement? Did you even read my comment above? I said: @You are assuming I do not face racism as a member of my race, where you're wrong.@ - which part of this says I have not faced racism???

I don't see how much clearer I could have been.

What Americanisms? What are you talking about?
I said: @You are assuming I do not face racism as a member of my race, where you're wrong.@
Well, shit. That'll teach me to read twice and answer once. But hey. If you know that racism and discrimination happen, what are we arguing about? That's literally all I was saying, was that they do.
