My figs are shrivelling up, Does anybody have experience with fig trees?

The fig tree I planted 12 months ago is bearing fruit. There supposed to be the plumb purply brown ones but when the go from green to brown the shrivel up and fall off. I have been using plant feed, fertiliser and mulch and even talk to it. (That's okay, my neighbours already think I'm weird) but nothings working.

Check online for diseases and pests of fig trees,
then check your tree for the symptoms.
Is your area similar in climate to the place of origin for your variety of fig?

They're thirsty. Try more water, a deep half-hour soaking once a week.

If that fails, do a soil analysis test.
Plant feed ot fertilizer isn't a generic one fits all thing .
Different plants have different needs , at different time of the year .
Grass needs are different to what flowering or fruit trees need .

You need to get a fertilizer designed for flowering or fruitng plants ....and water it into the soil just before spring .
Fruit trees need nitrogen in early spring for leaf growth ... then potassium for fruit growth once budding has started .

And then not to be fed after that so they can go thru their cycle of dormancy .

You can also push a fruit tree to fruit to early in it's life . Pushing it with fetilizers before it is grown can make it produce stunted fruit.

Anotjer thing you can do is prune it when. It goes dormant.
The less branches , the less fruit, but the more healthier the fruit .
- too many branches , too much fruit , and the tree can't feed them all and they can end up small, or underdeveloped .

Check the soil PH, not sure what it needs to be for a fig, you'll want to look that up somewhere.

Lack of nutrition According to Google.
Not enough in the soil to support growth

This has never happened with ours but ours leak and ferment very fast because they crack and get damaged by insects, especially wasps. They often attack them when they are unripe so they get spoiled already on the tree.

Yes. The sap itch when you pick some.

Don't worry. Jesus had problems with fig trees too.
