How do you work out Fahrenheit anyway?

It’s 9 degrees Celsius here which is 50 Fahrenheit? 50 is a high number in Celsius…

One crazy thing : -40 C = -40 F
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
I google it
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
On the Fahrenheit scale, freezing is 32° and boiling is 212°.

It was originally the other way around.

Yeah, it makes absolutely no sense.

I came from a country that uses celcius to moving to one that uses farenheit. Throws me off at times

Rough estimate is to double the centigrade and add 30. Not exact but near enough
I don't. It's like French to me.

@pillowprincess Fair enough. I guess you speak a non-Romance language. Perhaps a Germanic one?
@SW-User
English isn't a Romance language, it belongs to the Germanic language family 🤔
SW-User
@pillowprincess I know. But although English is Germanic in grammar, its vocabulary is massively influenced by French. I was also asking if you spoke a Germanic language :P

@Lilnonames Ah interesting!! Now I can see why -40 c - 40F!

Thanks, I love this kind of shit.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Lilnonames C = (5(F-32))/9
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@JimboSaturn Correction:
C = (F-32) x 5/9
