Do you consider yourself a loner at times?

I remember 10-12 yrs ago I was very active working, socializing, and going out. Now, the people that I used to communicate with has disappeared. At first, it was hard to accept but now I'm ok with it. The "friends" I had back then are no longer in my life anymore.
Now it's just my boyfriend, parents, cat, and maybe 1 friend and 2 associates.
I actually enjoy the peace I must admit.
I’m mostly an introvert tho I seem extroverted to most people — I need my alone time every day or I go nuts
@BiasForAction same answer!
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@BiasForAction I completely agree.
[big][c=A69800]Yes I am and have been a lot of my life and what happened in 2020 made things more difficult with friendships and now still like at my job..

I am trying to make new friends though so sometimes I do go out at weekend or whatever.

At least you have a boyfriend. [/c][/big]

I consider myself a loaner all the time. AND i am ok with it. After shitty relationship after shitty relationship to being married for 20 years then single again. It's like a breath of fresh air.
Morrigan · F
I am introverted,i am lucky I have beautiful friends who respect and understand my need to be alone at times.

I'm definitely a loner

Me to except without the boyfriend and cat. I once had a dog, I also once had a job where I had friends there and a social life but now I’m self employed. I think we get less sociable and we do like peace and quiet as we get older.
akindheart · 61-69, F
good for you for coming to terms with life in general. I had a turning point where i cut a lot of toxic people out of my life. So now i am a loner but i can pick and choose who i share with...and they have all tried to reconcile
I consider myself a loner ALL the time.
Almost all of my "friends" are gone now.
I like the alone-ness, but not the loneliness.
cycleman · 61-69, M
I leave work and then I am all by myself till I return back to work and be a goof around those who like my goofiness.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I am 100% a Loner. I don't have human contact with anyone outside of my bf and his daughter.
BeautifulLibra · 46-50, F
@DearAmbellina2113 Nothing wrong with that. People disappoint you, especially so called friends. After a while, you just don't care. You can be the most compassionate person, and show it and still get treated like you don't matter.
texasborn89 · 31-35, M
yeah pretty much. i do mostly everything by myself it sucks sometimes but it's ok though
Most of my friends are on here. I dont have any in my real life
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
I need occasional contact with humans, just over the internet or some people in real life.

I have older friends (yes - even at my age:) who have no-one and are gradually losing the confidence they had in socialising.

They also read what some women say about males and apply it to themselves and don't dare approach any woman, their age, even simply to say "Hello."

I understand what you are talking about. I used to go out many years ago. Life is so mundane now. I have no desire to go anywhere. Im 59 so i basically grew up in the 70s. Life is so different now. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Its an upside down world now. I just mind my own business.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
I am always a loner - 24 hours non stop. 😐
Ontheroad · M
I don't know about being a loner, but I like and always ahve liked being in my own company... I've gone through spurts in life where outside of work I was what one would call a loner, not even a girlfriend and I never minded it too much.
I am a loner mostly. My career is solitary. I live rather remotely. I have close online friends. I have very few in-person friends. I do; however, appreciate those people I love and those who love me in my life.
Smokey · 46-50, M
All the time

I have got going out and having fun out of my system and as most of my friends have married and had kids, I've used the time to travel and please myself. I enjoy my own company and space.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
It doesn’t bother me to have a very small circle of friends. Too many friends equals too much negative energy imho.

And drama. I HATE drama.
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@beautifullibra 🤔 well too be fair if you are happy with this small circle of friends you do right
BeJeweled · F
Yes. I'm not big on socializing and am content to be with my family only.

Let’s just say I value my alone time.
Magenta · F
Indeed. But it gets invaded by people.

Do you feel the change in these 10-12 years due to change in your behavior/life style or it is more due ti change in life style of others/people in general?

Me too feel so, with a difference that I don't have any pet or girlfriend.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I’m an extrovert by day and an introvert by night. As long as I have the love of a good woman, I’m as happy as can be. I don’t need to go out and party with my work friends.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
Yes, similar to you. It's better, I appreciate family and close friends even more.
At times yes. But that’s not something I could sustain. I need some interaction.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
Yes, I do
