Is there something from your past that you used to be very invested in and no longer do? Maybe a sport, hobby, carrier, lifestyle etc? Why do you no longer do it and what did it add to your life?
The long talks with my daddy either as we were going to my softball tournament, or doing pitching practice, or sitting in a deer blind or on the bank fishing. He had an answer for everything and could always make me feel it was always ok.
I grew up cheerleading. It was such hard work, dedication and fun. For 8 years it was my life. So many close friends, seeing every day and working together. I love what it taught me but sometimes I really miss that community and what it gave to my life.
I think I had out of body experience only for 7 seconds when I was 12. Nobody taught me but I was aware of that my name doesn't represent me and I was thinking about real me and suddenly I was up somewhere dark floating, it scared me so I came back right away. Now as a grownup I tried it few times, never worked... After that I am really interested in spirituality and soul journey in life itself.
@lovelychicadee I had a great school teacher when I was the age of ten. He created a dark room at school in a cupboard and showed us how to develop photos.
I used to watch films a lot. They helped me to escape. After some of my repressed memories surfaced and I tackled them head-on, I didn't need that kind of escape any longer, so I hardly ever watch them any more.
For me..it's playing my guitar. I played it most of my senior year. And til like..I wanna say 2014-15 area. Not long ago, I can still pick it up and play it. But I just don't have the same goals with her I once did.
I played the piano for many years. I can understand what you mean about not currently playing. Maybe you can add in small amounts of time and play, thats what I am hoping to do@huskyguy89
@lovelychicadee that takes a lot of talent. What made you stop? And yeah maybe I could. Maybe it'll help heal me some. I hope you can do the same, if that is your intent.
It's only been a short while but I had to give up drinking. I used to look forward to blotting out the boredom of everyday life but the doc said I had better quit or else! You know what? Boredom ain't so bad after all.
I miss playing cards with my brothers and parents on those cold, dark evenings in the winter. We’d listen to music, eat, drink and laugh so much. It was a very simple pleasure to just be with family those days.
I used to play polo, and really love it. University life distracted me from keeping at it. Eventually my family sold the ranch following my grad-dad’s passing, and I totally lost touch with the sport thereafter.
@lovelychicadee It was a sugary snack in the UK (probably illegal now), it was a nougat potato shaped sweet with covered in brown cinnamon. The good thing was it always had a toy (like a cowboy or something) in the centre.
