do you need rules to tell you what the right thing is?

Or do you know how to do the right thing just because it's the right thing to do?

The latter. I don’t need religion to tell me, either.

@bijouxbroussard how do you know?
@Joshlost Because I’ve seen organized religion teach cruelty, and I can’t support that.
Joshlost · M
@bijouxbroussard i didn't ask you about religion, clearly you have a hang up there. The original post said nothing about religion eirher. Leaving aside an obvious issue you have, the question is how do you 'know what is the right thing to do' ?
@Joshlost Sigh. I don’t know you. Feel free to leave me and my "hang ups" alone. 🤨
Joshlost · M
@bijouxbroussard so no answer to the valid question? I don't care about your hang ups, but you brought religion in to an apparently unrelated question

@Joshlost How is religion unrelated to a discussion on morality?
Joshlost · M
@uncalled4 how is it related unless ypu choose to make it so?

@Joshlost The right thing for you to do right now is to respect her wishes and leave her alone. The way you know this is because she told you and so did I.
Joshlost · M
@Harmonium1923 'feel free' is an invitation not an instruction. Aside from which who appointed you a moral authority to tell me me (or anyone else) what is right?
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Joshlost Because the definition of morality is principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior. Sound logical?
