do you need rules to tell you what the right thing is?

Or do you know how to do the right thing just because it's the right thing to do?
The latter. I don’t need religion to tell me, either.

@Joshlost Because the definition of morality is principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior. Sound logical?

@Joshlost Relax. We are all Stupid Humans. But some of the girls here are Worthy to Die for. Don't make me commence, or name names..
Rilyn · 31-35, F
Just because it's law it doesn't always make it right.
Rilyn · 31-35, F
@pianoplayingsteve True but we humans are created to think not be mindless creatures.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Rilyn tell that to most people :/ lol
Rilyn · 31-35, F
@pianoplayingsteve 🤷‍♀️ there's something called free will and it's pretty dangerous when used badly.
Sweetpoison · 41-45, F
I dont follow rules, i do what i think is right without harming anyone
Joshlost · M
@Sweetpoison are you sure? If you're setting your own moral framework without external reference how are you certain there's no harm to others?
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Joshlost because she is so hot, we will accommodate anything to be with her..
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@atlantic59 I mean, to embrace her beliefs....
Curly00 · 31-35, F
I just do what feels right thing to do, what my heart tells me, I just treat others like I want they to treat me 🙂

I think most people have an inborn morality of sorts. The Golden Rule seems to be universal among most people who are not sociopaths or pyschopaths .
Piper · 61-69, F
No, my own sense of right and wrong is quite strong and present. It has little to do with rules or laws, or choosing to abide by them or not.
Well i have morals, which are kinda like internal imperative rules ..so i suppose so🤷‍♀️

But in saying that, sometimes circumstances can get complicated.... So sometimes rules need to be broken for the greater good.
@Joshlost ohhh, are we trying desperately to prove to ourselves that we dont need to be accountable for our own actions are we?

Awe honey.... seems you needs a little growin' up to do .

Academic intelligence is only one aspect of smarts. It don't make you automatically right , no matter how much you wanna reason it .

You have proved who you are, and how you deal with making dick ass comments without thinking .

By all means continue . Met ur type before , know where your head is at, and can tell you your future here if you keep it up:

Youre gonna piss people off, make a few like minded friends....who eventually you'll argue with, and lose them too. And then you're going to make another account ....and do it all over again .

Prolly just like youve done on other sites and ended up so blocked it got boring..

Im done with your ego sugah.

Believe whatever your ego needs you to believe . Idc

@OogieBoogie if that's genuinely the level you work at then I'll step past my self imposed limit. Read back this exchange as a mirror. Your inability to accept a reasonable challenge to your vacuous opinions shows you to be unintelligent, emotionally and intellectually frail and, frankly, pretty nasty and spiteful when someone dares question your empty headed bullshit. If calling out empty headed waffle like yours leaves me lonely then my loneliness will be of far greater value than friendships built on empty platitudes. Really have a look at yourself, for all your self assured morality you're a really spiteful creature when questioned

Your sense of self worth should be enough to help you in knowing the difference between right and wrong, and to choose the correct action
Joshlost · M
Define 'right', presumably as distinct from 'wrong' or, possibly, morally neutral.

If everybody did the "right" things, we wouldn't need rules about doing the right things.
We all differ on what we see as right or wrong and what some see as a bad thing, others don't.

@Stereoguy common sense is a set of prejudices instilled into someone as a child. Common sense to one person is absurdity to another. An obvious fact is a conspiracy theory to another.
